It takes a community to transform the future of healthcare!
Throughout 2021 and into 2022, donors and supporters rallied around the work of Women’s College Hospital through a range of virtual and in-person events – raising critical funds in support of groundbreaking research, advancing awareness and advocating for change and paving the way to a more equitable healthcare system for all. We are so grateful.
“Women’s has always been a place that gets things done for women. While other hospitals do great things, Women’s does it for us.”
Colleen Moorehead, long-time donor, volunteer and champion hosted a special event in June 2021 to raise funds for Dr. Kelly Metcalfe’s life-changing research – including a generous lead gift of $100,000 from Colleen herself.
Run for Women
In July 2021, over 1,600 runners and walkers took to the streets of Toronto to raise awareness and funds for women’s mental health!
The Toronto Run for Women presented by the LOVE YOU by Shoppers Drug Mart program – part of a 10-day virtual event taking place in communities across Canada – raised an incredible $342,000 in support of the Department of Psychiatry at Women’s College Hospital, the largest clinical and research program focused on women’s mental health in Canada.
Women’s Health Summit
Presented by Women’s College Hospital Foundation’s 100Women – a group of philanthropists committed to advancing a healthier, more equitable future – the Women’s Health Summit in November 2021 took women off “mute” and put women’s health issues at the top of the agenda.
Through panel discussions, breakout sessions and inspiring remarks from healthcare leaders, the Summit called on guests to take action and create real change for the health of women everywhere.
In Conversation With…
When COVID-19 was declared a pandemic in March 2020, we knew we had to find ways to stay connected with our community and share information about the urgent and impactful work taking place at the hospital. That’s when the In Conversation With… series was born.
In January 2022, we hosted our fourth In Conversation With… event featuring Dr. Paula Rochon, Founding Director of the Women’s Age Lab. Over 350 guests tuned in for an in-depth conversation about how the Women’s Age Lab is revolutionizing care for women as they age – making it our most successful event in the series to date.
Women for Women’s
On International Women’s Day 2022, we welcomed over 1,000 guests to the 11th annual Women for Women’s, our signature fundraising gala! Rallying women and their allies around the urgent need to invest in the future of women’s health research, the event raised an incredible $590,000 for Women’s College Hospital, including a groundswell of support for life-saving science being led by Dr. Kelly Metcalfe, a senior scientist at Women’s College Research Institute.
Exploring the genetics of breast and ovarian cancer and advancing studies that help women make more informed choices about prevention and treatment, Dr. Metcalfe’s research holds the potential to transform how cancer is diagnosed and treated – work that could save countless lives.
